Gould Genealogy and History

This wonderful and greatly enlarged edition provides a number of new features, not least of which is the inclusion of the Ordnance Map References for each parish so that the place can be quickly located on a map. The research has also addressed the numerous ancient parishes, particularly in the larger towns and cities which were absorbed by their neighbours before 1800. An attempt has also been made to clarify the problem raised in the last edition over the status of some chapels. An inclusion in this edition is a reference to the deaneries which may be useful in searching for neighbouring parishes and locating pre-1855 Wills.

Also the research notes, information on counties, dioceses and parishes in England has been expanded. Once the reader has located the county of the parish being researched, there are many other publications which will assist the reader further, some of which are listed in our catalogue.
