If you don't have access to the internet, or don't wish to pay for viewing the census online, the other option is to buy the CDs. The bonus with this is that you've then got them for whenever you need to look something else up in the future. Now available for you to own on CD is the Oxfordshire 1841 Census, which comes as a set of 3 CDs. These contain high quality images of the census books digitised from the microfilm, and where missing pages or poor images have been detected additional images taken from the books have been added.
Please note: Censuses are organised by Registration Districts, which DO NOT necessarily correspond with county boundaries. A set of census records usually omits some places within a county, and/or includes others from adjacent counties.
Link to street indexes to browse the areas and streets where your ancestors possibly lived. The CD set covers the whole of the Oxfordshire Registration Districts. Features of the CD set are: the ability to magnify an area to see further detail, and print the current page. There is also a place name index included, to help you find which CD you should be looking at.
