Digests or summaries of court cases were reported continuously in 'The New South Wales Weekly Notes' from 1884 to 1970 - then subsequently under a different title. This CD contains 17 years of Weekly notes from 1884 through to 1900. Though a digest or summary, many cases are reported in considerable detail.
You will find any case here that may have come before the courts. Some examples are: bankruptcy, violence, murder, probate and claims under wills or cases of intestacy, restraining injunctions, right of custody, divorce, criminal cases, assault, libel, a business or institution against an individual, and vice versa, and much more.
Any of our forebears could have been involved in many of these cases, either as a plaintiff or defendant - or simply as a witness or person affected by the outcome. Other family members may be mentioned, sometimes by date of birth, marriage and death and other events in the person's life. While some reports are quite brief, others run to several pages.
Anyone could be a party to any of these cases. A great deal of personal and genealogical information appears. Fill in some details of your families' lives with information you may not find anywhere else.
High quality scanned images of the whole of each of the original books. This CD has been bookmarked for easy navigation, and pages can be searched, browsed, enlarged and printed out if required.
