A large number of of those emigrating from Ireland after the Great Famine were born in the Ireland depicted by this map. Originally issued in England during the early 19th century, this large 2-sheet map show a largely rural Ireland before the large-scale emigrations of the 1840s and 1850s.

Printed on parchment paper, with black ink, this intricate engraved map identifies the 32 counties and is studded with many small place names not often found of maps of this time period. The provinces are also shown.

A great researcher's tool, the maps are slightly larger than A4 size when folded, but each opens out to 46cm x 61cm (18" x 24").
