School records are an amazing resource for historians, but one that is not always thought of. This CD contains the Admission Register of Manchester School from 1730 through until 1807.
In two volumes, it was edited by the Rev. Jeremiah Finch Smith, and published in 1866 and 1868 respectively. This Register of the Manchester Free Grammar School gives biographical details of the pupils, and comes complete with an index of names.
A digital version of the original book, in PDF format is now fully searchable, and can be viewed on any computer using Adobe Acrobat Reader.
