The Heraldry and Genealogy Society of Canberra has as one of its objectives the recording of tombstone and other memorial inscriptions. The genealogical and historical information displayed on memorials is an invaluable aid to research and is often unavailable from any other source.
Cemeteries are especially vulnerable to damage and the ravages of time, hence the need to make these transcriptions available to use by fellow genealogists, biographers, and local and regional historians.
Covering the Yass Cemetery and St Clement's Churchyard, there are maps included as reference, and a few b&w photos. The transcriptions are set out in a table format with firstly a number the surname, with the rest of the transcription following.
