Based on the 1851 Irish Census, and originally published in 1861 as 'General Alphabetical Index to the Townlands and Towns, Parishes and Baronies of Ireland'. This lists all known place names used in Ireland in 1851 giving map and reference details. Now the 994 pages are produced here on CD-ROM.

Using the newly-created Flikker software, this CD is an electronic copy of the original publications. The Flikker software allows easy navigation of each book, so you can quickly and easily jump to whatever page you are interested in. Flikker books are created by scanning each page of the original publication using a special high-quality scanning system. The page images are re-worked into a Flikker book and the result is placed on CD-ROM.

This CD is self-contained and requires no installation, or extra reading software to view it.
