This index is a supplement to the land records indexed in the Queensland Early Pioneers Index 1824-1849 (previously known are the Pre-Separation Population Index of the Moreton Bay Region) and included the remaining unindexed records relating to titles, covering the period 1856-1859--a total of 3052 names. Details on the index include: Surname, Christian Names, Date of Purchase, Names of Parish where land was purchased, Land description (ie. Allotment, Portion Number and the reference to locating the record on the Department of Natural Resources Titles database). Copies of the deed can be obtained from the Lands Transaction Office by quoting this number. Details that you will find on the deed (but not included in this index): Name of County, Location within Parish, Area of land purchased, Place of Residence or Purchaser, Amount paid and full description of the land purchased.
