The 2002 edition has been fully revised and updated. This book is designed to help researchers find and use shipping and immigration records in Australia on a state by state basis. Many of the sources listed are available as part of research kits which have been published by State Records New South Wales, The Queensland State Archives, State Records and the State Library of South Australia, the Public Record Office of Victoria and the Library and Information Service of Western Australia. These kits have made the genealogical and historical resources held by these libraries and archives widely available throughout the community.

It is arranged alphabetically by state and category. It is fully indexed and includes separate diary, place, ship and subject indexes. Use this book to locate the records for when, where and what ship your family arrived in Australia.
