Herefordshire's toots lie in its villages. Despite the changes brought about by the age of the motor car, the villages are a source of pride and delight to both local people and visitors.
Towards the middle of the 1980s, the County's local village Women's Institutes set about the task of recording the history, atmosphere, anecdotes, people and events of over 150 of their villages. The notes and illustrations were then collected into a book - The Herefordshire Village Book - which the Herefordshire Women's Institutes have now revised, updated and expanded for this new edition.
The villages of Herefordshire in the 21st century continue to flourish and prosper and this book will be a welcome companion both on the bookshelf and in the car. A must for all interested in Herefordshire's history.
