'Gallipoli Doctors' is the first volume the Australian Doctors at War Series. Due to the efforts of LtCol Robert Likeman, CMS, this book is the most comprehensive record of the contribution made by almost 300 doctors of the AIF during the Gallipoli campaign which also included Lemnos and Ship Transports.

In what is a 'who's who' of the medical profession at war, LtCol Likeman has described in great detail the lives of the AIF doctors who laboured under harsh conditions at Gallipoli to tens to the wounded and sick. Each mini-biography details the professional life of the doctor concerned prior to the war and after, in addition, where doctors also served of the Western Front or in Palestine, their service history is also recorded.

Each officer has his medical qualifications listed and details of honours and awards where relevant are also included as as well as many phtographs of Gallipoli doctors and some scenes of medical units at Gallipoli.

In addition to the AIF doctors, mini-biographies are also included of Australian doctors who served as combatants in the AIF doctors who served as combatants in the AIF, or served in british units such as 'Kitchener's Hundred'.

'Gallipoli Doctors' is the first volume in the series Australian Doctors at War, the second volume due in 2011 covers the campaigns in Egypt and Palestine as well as the Naval and Expeditonary Force to German New Guinea.
