This two volume work was written by J. Arnold Fleming in 1930, with the aim of producing a comprehensive, accurate and interesting record of the Flemish race and culture as well as the Fleming (and Flemming) family name in Britain.
The book contains a general history of the Flemish people, as well looking at their industry, art and architecture, culture, and general way of life and how these aspects of Flemish culture have impacted on Britain throughout British history. It also looks at events in history in which particular people from the Fleming family were involved.
This book is useful to those with an interest in the Flemish people in Britain and to those with British-Flemish ancestors.
