FamilySearch is the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints (the LDS Church or the Mormons) website that allows access to their indexes online. As with all indexes they need to be treated with some caution and in the case of FamilySearch there are some particularly well-hidden pitfalls awaiting the unwary revealed in this booklet.
