Arriving at Dugandan in 1844, Macquarie McDonald, his young wife, and his brother Campbell Livingstone McDonald are said to be the first settlers of the region. The 'Fassifern Centenary 1844-1944' is a souvenir booklet containing information about the district from settlement until 1944. It includes a descriptive history of the discovery and settlement of Fassifern and other surrounding districts. Also contained in this booklet are some biographical sketches, some district personalities, names of district council members, a list and photographs of  fallen men enlisted in the First World War from Boonah and districts, short stories, statistical information and much more.

Contained in 250 pages, this is a wonderful collection of local, historical information which if not published would quite likely be forgotten. A useful publication for those with connections to this region.

High quality scanned images of the whole of the original book. This CD has been bookmarked for easy navigation, and pages can be searched, browsed, enlarged and printed out if required.

I bought this to preserve my original copy of the Fassifern Centenary. I particularly like being able to use the search function and the pages are clear and easy to read. A great alternative to the actual book and a must if you’re interested in the Fassifern area.
