Description

Compiled and printed in 1982 this is a family history of Richard Garrett and his known descendants from 1804 through to 1982.

The Introduction states "the precise origin of Richard Garrett is not clear, but it would seem from information obtained from various sources that he was born probably in the Isle of Wight in 1804. The first documented appearance of Richard Garrett is that of his marriage to his first wife, Mary Ann Allen on 25th August 1822 in Chichster, Sussex, England.

During their marriage, eight children were born and they emigrated to South Australia in 1840 (Edmund (Edward), Richard, Thomas, Maria Ann, George, Esther and Mary Allen). Mary Ann died during childbirth in 1845. Jane Argent was Richard's second wife and with her he had at least three more children (Jane, Charles and Samuel). Mathilda Lohmann (his housekeeper) and Richard had at least three more children (William, Edward and a daughter).

Primarily a family tree this book does contain some history and photographs of the family.
