From the moment we begin research on our family, we start collecting notes, certificates, photocopies, photographs and more. Many of us have a regrettable tendency to take notes on scraps of paper and keep them all in a box or a drawer (or two). The more organised may use notebooks, and have a filing cabinet, even a computer. Too many of us, however, have piles of paper, roughly sorted notes. This is not a workbook, but it is a collection of charts for you to photocopy and use when doing your research. The charts serve different purposes. Some, such as Australian BDM and Early Church Records (ECR) are intended to be used for the collection of reference to particular names. Others, such as Parish Registers, Civil Registration or British Census Extracts are for extracting information in full, either from microforms or, as in the case of certificates, documents which are difficult shape and size for routine storage. Most have provided space for you to write your name, the date and the place were you are doing research. Contents: Introduction Glossary Beginners Check List Useful Information - 1. Latin Terms - 2.
