Wills are an extremely valuable, and are an often under-used source of genealogical information, but they can give details of family members, places of residence and burial as well as revealing details about their possessions.
This index edited by Francis J. Grant and published in 1897, is an index to Wills in Edinburgh for the years 1514-1600.
Arranged alphabetically by surname, together with first name/s, and a description (sometimes relationship to another person, sometimes 'of a place' is mentioned), together with the date.
