Dictionary of Queenslanders: Past and Present Volumes 1, 2 and 3' is a
lasting tribute to those who have been born in Queensland or have chosen to live
there. It was originally published in three volumes, but as Volume 2 and 3 are
now out of print, all three volumes have now been put on to a single CD-ROM.
The entries of all three volumes have been combined and arranged
alphabetically with cross references, adding in which volume it is was in, at
the end of each entry. The aim is to recognise as many past and present
Queenslanders as possible. Similar books exist for South Australia and Western
Australia but these do not include present day residents. As we today will
become the ancestors of tomorrow, there was be no restriction on the time period
of entries.
A total of 919 pages, it is a fairly substantial account of people living
(past or present) in Queensland. From a quick scan of entries, there are people
born in the early 1800s right through to people born in the1970s. Readable in
