The "Descendants of Simon Fraser of Laggan,
Inverness-shire, Scotland" covers not only the descendants in Scotland but also
the allied families in Canada and United States.
This work is a difficult one to describe. It begins with a tradition or
legend (discredited by the author) that the primary Fraser family included here
was descended from the Lord Lovat executed in 1746, but that idea was soon
discarded and other lines were investigated.
This work studies the descendants of Simon Fraser of Laggan in
Inverness-shire, but concentrates primarily on Canada and on Frasers in Canada
and their 18th and 19th century relations.
