Cornwall's roots lie in its villages. Despite the changes brought about by the age of the motor car, the villages still retain their character and charm, and are a source of pride and delight to both local people and visitors.
At the beginning of the 1990s, the County's local village Women's Institutes set about the task of recording the history, atmosphere, anecdotes, people and events of over 300 of their villages. The notes and illustrations were then collected and compiled into this publication – which the Cornwall Women’s Institutes have now revised and updated for this new edition.
The villages of Cornwall in the 21st century continue to flourish and prosper and this book will be a welcome companion to all with an interest in the county.
