'The Black Diamond Line' is the story of Captain Henry Simpson's collier fleet that linked Newcastle in New South Wales, together with Wallaroo and Port Adelaide in South Australia.

Ships of this fleet played a major role in the supply of coal for the smelters at Wallaroo which refined the copper ores from the nearby mines as well as providing fuel for the city of Adelaide.
