| The 'Atlantic Bridge to Germany' series was the brain-child of Charles M. Hall which started in 1974. It evolved into ten books covering most of the German Empire states. Since Charles Hall's retirement in 2002, the owners of Origins Books have undertaken the job of updating and publishing these books. The second book to be completed by them is Baden. It has been completely revamped with new maps, and extra pages have been added with history, and tips on how to research in Baden. The first thirty pages contain Baden information dealing with history, geography, population, emigration, websites, books of interest, several maps showing historical divisions, and more. The main part of the book is taken up with both maps and a listing of placenames in Baden. The Placenames listing is set out in table format, listing not only the placename, but map references as to the map they appear on in this book making life incredibly easy, column 4 and column 5 are headed with with words 'Catholic' and 'Protestant'. Listed underneath are date ranges (ie. 1682-1900). These dates indicate that church records relating to Baden can be found in the FamilySearch Family History Library Catalog. This book is the ultimate guide for anyone who is researching their family in Baden.
