The 'Atlantic Bridge to Germany' series was the brain-child of Charles M. Hall which started in 1974. It evolved into ten books covering most of the German Empire states.
Since Charles Hall's retirement in 2002, the owners of Origins Books have undertaken the job of updating and publishing these books. The first book to be completed by them is Alsace-Lorraine. It has been completely revamped with new maps (from 1876-1898 era) showing the majority of the more than 5,600 places named in the book. Each place is identified by German and French names, Kreis (county), Bezirk (government district), and what years there are records available at the Family History Library. The first sixteen pages contain Alsace-Lorraine information dealing with history, geography, websites, books of interest, several maps showing historical divisions, and more.
Also list of available records in Family History Library in Salt Lake City. Includes short history of the area and how to research.
Please note: Alsace-Lorraine was German territory from 1871 through until 1914, but is now subsequently French owned.
