Hospital records are an extremely useful source of information. However, many
records are not yet available for consultation, due to the 100 year closure
period.
The most generally genealogically useful of hospital records (other than
vital records of birth, baptism and death) are admission and discharge
registers. These may give all sorts of information including: age, address and
sometimes next of kin.
This book is a compilation of the hospitals throughout London, not just
current ones either, together with information on the types of records that
exist for each.
