The Australian Biographical and Genealogical Record is a non-profit, independent research unit established to coordinate and compile biographical and genealogical details about Australians.
It is also the name of the published work of the Project, which are issued in two series, as a multi-volume set of reference books.
This series contains quite detailed biographies with photographs of the subject where available, of any Australian submitted and sponsored by individuals. Series 1 includes those who arrived or were born in Australia 1788-1841 and Series 2 covers the period 1842-1899. This particular volume contains 1300 biographies, 450 photos. A master index is available separately covering all volumes.
